Welcome to the Placerville Drive Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities Project (CIP 41816) and
the Placerville Drive at Hangtown Creek Bridge Replacement Project (CIP 41410)!
The Placerville Drive Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities project proposes to install new curb, gutter, sidewalk and bicycle lanes on both sides of Placerville Drive from Armory Drive to the US 50 undercrossing. The project also includes new sidewalk and bicycle facilities on Green Valley Road from Mallard Lane to Placerville Drive. The environmental document was adopted by the Placerville City Council on January 10, 2023. Phase 1 of the project is fully funded for final design, right of way, and construction through the state Active Transportation Program. Phase 1 includes the Green Valley Road segment, and Placerville Drive from Ray Lawyer Drive/Green Valley Road to Cold Springs Road.
The Placerville Drive Bridge Replacement project proposes to replace the two-lane bridge over Hangtown Creek, 0.3 miles west of Cold Springs Road, and replace it with a two lane bridge with a two-way left-turn lane, bicycle lanes, and sidewalks. The environmental document was adopted by the Placerville City Council on November 9, 2022. The project is fully funded for final design, right of way, and construction through the federal Highway Bridge Program.
Construction of both projects is planned to begin in the spring of 2026.
